Description
The Junior Motion Designer supports the creation of motion graphics and animations across ITCH Media’s client and internal projects. They work under the guidance of senior team members to design and animate assets, prepare project files, and assist in the delivery of high-quality outputs that meet brand guidelines and project objectives.
They gain hands-on experience in both pure animation projects and motion graphics integrated into live-action footage, building skills in design, animation, and workflow management. They also contribute to ITCH internal initiatives, creating content that supports the agency’s own brand and creative presence.
As they develop their craft, the Junior Motion Designer works on smaller tasks within larger projects, gradually taking on more complex responsibilities as their skills grow. They stay curious, open to feedback, and committed to learning the processes, tools, and creative approaches that help ITCH’s motion work stand out.
Key Skills
- Some experience or training in motion design, with a portfolio showing creative potential.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
- An understanding of animation principles and design fundamentals.
- A willingness to learn new tools and techniques to improve craft.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to take direction and work collaboratively within a team.
- Enthusiasm for creative problem-solving and experimenting with new ideas.
- A can-do attitude and openness to feedback.
Responsibilities
- Support the motion team in delivering high-quality motion graphics and animation work that meets ITCH’s creative standards and brand guidelines.
- Assist in preparing, organising, and delivering animation assets for both client and internal projects.
- Develop skills in design, animation, and workflow management while contributing to a variety of creative outputs, with the opportunity to grow into independently handling projects over time.
- Assist with the design and animation of assets for client and internal projects.
- Prepare project files, organise assets, and maintain clear file naming and folder structures.
- Support the creation of motion graphics for both pure animation and live-action integration.
- Help version and reformat outputs for different platforms and deliverables.
- Work closely with senior team members to understand briefs and project requirements.
- Contribute to ITCH internal projects, applying motion skills to promote the agency’s own brand and content.
- Carry out basic edits or animation adjustments under supervision.
- Follow brand guidelines and creative direction provided by senior team members.
- Check outputs for accuracy, spelling, and brand alignment before delivery.
- Learn and apply ITCH’s post-production workflows and templates.
- Stay up to date with motion trends, animation techniques, and software developments.
- Be proactive in seeking feedback to improve skills and creative output.
